Many Nepalese New Zealanders work in the dairy industry while there are others who are scholars, social workers and professors.〔(New Zealand - The youngest country )〕 Nepali authorities are preparing to allow unemployed Nepalis to go to New Zealand to seek employment.〔(New Zealand, Azerbaijan ask Nepal for workers )〕 Many Lhotshampas or Bhutanese Nepalis who were expelled from Bhutan have been resettled in New Zealand which offered to settle 600 refugees over five years starting in 2008.〔(US largest new home for Bhutanese refugees )〕 In recent years since 2009, there has been a dramatic increment in Nepalese international students in New Zealand, most of them go to cheap private colleges. Many of these students has to work 20 hours a week to support their livelihood in New Zealand. They work in a farm or in Indian restaurant as a waiter or cleaner. Most of the Nepalese students want to gain permanent residency in New Zealand.
